Certain types of foods require bigger protection. One of them is olives which are considered a living organism and for this reason need better protection from oxygen and germs which exist in the atmosphere and can affect foods and packages. High barrier packages are multilayered with high barriers which protect the contents of a package from unwanted interaction with the outside environment thus extending the lifespan of the product on the shelf or in the fridge. Even though they are multilayered they have transparency similar to glass and in combination with low transparency in oxygen (OTR) they are the most innovative packages in the manufacturing field
